HO HO HOLY SH*T…3 days to go!
Already, that’s enough talk of Christmas from me! This evening we meet Fabrizio, an Italian based model with rather impressive facial hair aka @misteruniquelife 😉
Fabrizio uses his feed as a personal blog to document his thoughts, ideas, daily routines AND, of course, his CLOBBER. However, as well as his threads, Fabrizio has no hesitation in posting images of his modelling work, daily outings and even FOOD! Now I’m not gunna lie, I usually skim past food pics that appear in my feed, not that I don’t like food because I love it, I even understand why a colour-popping dish makes for a good photo, it’s just food pics are not what I personally use Instagram for. Having said that I never skip a pic of grub when Fabrizio posts one.
There’s something about the way he handles his ideas that play out on his pictures to tell a story. Be it the subtle backgrounds that help drag your attention to the focal point of his images or even the way he manages to make the shape of a certain room a feature within the pic, Fabrizio is obviously a talented guy who is very artistic. Now pushing followers around the 30K mark Fabrizio’s feel for a feed is taking off so it’s about time he hit the @clobbercalm hot-seat!
MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE MENSWEAR
NAME: Fabrizio Politi aka @misteruniquelife
LOCATION: Rome, Italy
OCCUPATION: Art Director, Volleyball Trainer
1. So Why Instagram?
It’s immediate and direct, you can express your sensation through your pictures.
2. Why Denim, Boots, Workwear, Ruggedness?
I always wear that, I love the rugged style cause it’s like me…rude but comfortable.
3. What are your thoughts on the rise in popularity of “Instafashion” and the community it is creating?
Now there is a change, everyone wants to be someone through Instagram, influencers, bloggers and everything else, but if they don’t understand that you can think to it just for business what you express will be fake.
4. Top 3 brands to shop and why?
5. Where’s your favourite place to shop these brands?
All around the world, flea markets on top!
6. When did you decide to voice and share your love for your clobber on social media?
Like 2 years ago I was bored to be another bearded man who makes selfies.
7. What’s the secret behind your great images; Who takes them? When are they taken? How do you capture the magic your followers enjoy so much?
I just do by my own using my mobile, I try to express my way of living myself because I’ve been told before if you want to be someone you will be fake!
8. What feeds do you like to follow and check in on? Who should we check out?
I love food feeds, rugged feeds, fashion and tattoos.
9. What tips would you give new starters on Instagram to help them get there feed off the ground and successful?
Try to steal with your eyes from others but process all through YOUR eyes and YOUR way of life.
10. And Lucky Last, You’re going to be stranded on a desert island and you can take 1 outfit (4 items) Only with you.
What would they be? And Why?
On a desert island; Levi’s sweatshirt, pair of denim (maybe Japanese), leather belt made by Emilio Colonna (an Italian craftsman) and boots of course! An outfit for all weather and, to drink, passion mule, it’s a desert island so enjoy!
Sooooo many cool pics to choose from when putting this feature together Fabrizio, your @misteruniquelife feed is so calm yet bursts with so much energy. It comes as no surprise that you are an Art Director, an accreditation that’s more than worthy of such an impressive lifestyle feed. It’s been great to have you on board for the 10@10 Fabrizio and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!
Ok, so how to follow that I hear you ask?!
Well let’s start with a menswear brand that’s USA-based and marries design and utility with contemporary, tailored fits on the garments they produce. Not my line folks but a line taken from the brief biography on the @freenotecloth website. Yup, Andrew from Freenote took the time out, a few weeks back, to sit in the @clobbercalm La-Z-Boy and put his thoughts into the 10@10 for our reading pleasure. It was great chatting to Andrew as we worked through the “short but sweet” 10@10 process and the more I got to know about the Freenote dudes the more I appreciated their already very impressive collections of utilitarian menswear.
So the last ‘Brands Behind…’ feature will be with @freenotecloth on Boxing Day so swing on by whilst you’re feeling extremely pigged out and, probably, slightly drunk and get steeped in a little USA-made knowledge. If you haven’t already (which I’m sure you all have) be sure to take a look at the new Freenote Cloth Double Stone Washed Utility Shirt, it looks the shizzle!
Right, I’m off to wrap presents as I’m sure many of you are also. Crack open another bevvie first eh? Makes it a lot less painful!
Merry Christmas friends, wishing you and your loved ones all the best.
