PT&F17 – January

Morning folks.

Yep, we are saying “Morning” for once and that’s because we have decided the 12 Threads & Fades features’ (1 per month throughout 2017) will be published on a Saturday morning live at 10am.

Now for those who don’t already know or have simply stumbled across this page after taking a wrong turn on the whole worldwide web? Project @threads.and.fades.2017 is an experiment that concentrates on 5 guys from 4 different countries all wearing 1 style of Jean; the Slim/Standard Kojima from the boys at @shockoe_atelier. Each bloke has his own priorities, career and family-life that he belongs to on a daily basis and each story is different from the next. Spanned across 4 countries each ‘Denim Bro’ is wearing the Kojima jean as much as humanly possible throughout 2017 and all are going about their completely different daily lives, that are being brought together here ONLY on the clobbercalm.com site.

Well I think that pretty much explains it so without further ado lets get started with January’s official #threadsandfades2017 fix…

MEET THE GUYS BEHIND PT&F17

1. Firstly, @sel.vage, where have the Kojimas been this month? (Interesting or boring any honest answer is great as it paints a picture on the whole)

January was rather unspectacular. Was wearing the Slim Kojima for 17 days, mostly on the daily commute to work and at home. The highlight was a trip to Berlin to Selvedge Run. I guess I still have to catch up quite a bit considering the other pairs of jeans. Especially Ricki’s 😉 And…I’ve already thought about wearing it underneath my work clothes. Figured it wasn’t such a great idea after all.

2. What can we expect from February, Have the Kojimas got anything to look forward to?

No plans for February yet. Just a few trips to Köln/Düsseldorf.

3. Anything you want to bob on the end about your Kojima or Project Thread and Fades ’17?

I’m really keen on how different it’ll turn out compared to my first Slim Kojimas.

1. Firstly, @rickisamhall, where have the Kojimas been this month? (Interesting or boring any honest answer is great as it paints a picture on the whole)

They’ve been to a few places. January is quite a quiet month for my profession but the Kojimas have been to the gym with me everyday, on set numerous amount of times shooting various campaigns and projects, back to the motherland of Wolverhampton to help me old dear out with some repairs to the house and lastly to the lovely beach in Brighton to see my friends. Next month I should be venturing a bit further.

2. What can we expect from February, Have the Kojimas got anything to look forward to?

We are currently moving house so I’m doing a lot of decorating, repairing and general handyman shit to get our current flat back up to scratch before we move into our new house. February will be a lot of the same. It’s great to just be able to slip the Kojimas on and not have to worry about being gentle in them. I wear clothes to be worn in hard, and that’s how it should be. The more we do in them and the harder we work the more stories and war wounds we get on them. It’s a journey and great for story telling. Each pair of my jeans have 100’s of stories locked away in each stitch. These Kojimas, by the end of their journey, will have some amazing ones.

3. Anything you want to bob on the end about your Kojima or Project Thread and Fades ’17?

Having fun being involved in this project. It’s great to see the other guys starting to get fades and scuffs in theirs jeans already. I’m quite competitive so I 100% want to be the most lived in by the end of the year haha. I mean I’ve already fallen over 3 times in these (sober) and they’re started to get pretty grubby already.

1. Firstly, @johanmalik80, where have the Kojimas been this month? (Interesting or boring any honest answer is great as it paints a picture on the whole)

During this time I always travel (hangout with family, friends, go to office, and bring them sleep, hahaaa) with Kojima every day since I received from Matt. This is day 17 for me in the project Threads & Fades and I’ve really enjoyed all. No other words besides Kojima is the best product!

2. What can we expect from February, Have the Kojimas got anything to look forward to?

I hope that in February more denim enthusiasts around the world know the product from Shockoe particularly Kojima, and the friends who are involved in the project Threads & Fades show the best results!

3. Anything you want to bob on the end about your Kojima or Project Thread and Fades ’17?

I hope this project can continue to run on! Because with this project our fellow denim lovers can get closer and sharing knowledge about denim. Of course the end result is to see change from the Kojima that we use.

1. Firstly, @drmmathias, where have the Kojimas been this month? (Interesting or boring any honest answer is great as it paints a picture on the whole)

I have worn them at least 8 hours every day, with most of the days seeing 16 hours of wear or 24 full hours! In that time, they have been worn to my office job during the weekdays with lots of different boots. They have also been worn outside on my land some during the weekend cleaning up stuff (moving wood and sticks to the burn pile, misc yard work) but not nearly as much outside work as I would like because we have had lots of rain and mud. 😔 One other thing, I did some weightlifting (4-5 sessions) in them to help break them in and stretch them.

2. What can we expect from February, Have the Kojimas got anything to look forward to?

Definitely more outside time if we get normal winter cold temperatures and snow instead of rain. This might include some tree cutting and chopping of wood as well as a large bonfire, but with the short winter days that is all weekend weather dependent unfortunately so not sure. Possibly some house low voltage electric work. Finally, there is a good chance I am going to make a wooden table we have been needing. And the normal daily grind the denim already saw in January.

3. Anything you want to bob on the end about your Kojima or Project Thread and Fades ’17?

For quality Japanese denim like this I am more accustomed to 16+ oz heavyweight. The Classic Kojima has been very easy break in and is super comfortable now that it is starting the age process after break in. I am having a blast and definitely some fades are starting. Awsome fun and I LOVE this denim!

1. Firstly, @bothrops1, where have the Kojimas been this month? (Interesting or boring any honest answer is great as it paints a picture on the whole)

I’ve been wearing these every day since January 1st! I didn’t soak them I just cuffed them, a little bit high, and have been wearing them! They were still a little stiff when I wore them for her birthday weekend in Chicago! Did a lot of walking around and got pretty quickly to the fuzzy phase.

2. What can we expect from February, Have the Kojimas got anything to look forward to?

Right now, let’s plan to spend every day in February in these things, as well! They haven’t really moved too much which is perfect. When I got them, it was a little tough getting the top button to go but they’re opening up just a little bit in the waste and also the eating season is over in America and I’m not packing it in like I was over the holidays.

3. Anything you want to bob on the end about your Kojima or Project Thread and Fades ’17?

It really is a privilege to be part of this project! It’s fun to follow these things on the legs of dudes much more stylish than myself as they change. My next pair of jeans will be these in a slim! The attention to detail on these things is really spectacular and, only a month in, I’ve been asked by other people about these jeans more than I’ve been asked about in any other pair, even some of the relatively rare pairs that I own!

Nice one boys, cheers for the updates, you’re all looking stellar as hell and I can’t wait to see the damage that’s just around the corner for the Kojimas! No matter how subtle as we know, sometimes, subtlety is the ingredient that creates the beauty of a perfect fade and tells the most perfect stories.

Well thanks for stopping by…we’re all brothers of indigo blood and it’s a cool little number, the PT&F project so it’s cool you’re staying close. Help us spread the word and keep the independent Denim trade alive!

Doing one so have top weekend. Visit the @clobbercalm store HERE and see the calendar below for what we have rocking over the next couple of weeks…

  1. Question Number 1 is wearing slim and number 5 is wearing regular. What are the other fellows wearing?
Please forgive me if I missed that info in the intro.
