God kväll blue bloods.
I hope the second week in February ’17 is treating you like a boss and smothering you in badass splendour?
Tonight we speak to Johannes aka @sennah0j. A long haired, bearded dude from Sweden. I’ve been looking forward to this dose of the 10@10 as I think Johannes is probably one of the guys on IG that likes @lee101official more than I do! His regular splashes of 101 debauchery keep me interested in what he’s upto on a daily basis. Much like our brother Daniel, from @redrawdenim, Johannes has a frame that makes the fit of certin denim styles look bang-on…the addition of Wings in there for good measure, BOOM! You have all the ingredients for a tip-top Raw Denim feed.
Johannes is a top bloke and was more than generous with his time when it came to the 10@10 so lets not waste any more time as you should now be sitting back, relaxing, perhaps cracking open a bottle of beer and enjoying the thoughts of Johannes as @sennah0j answers the @clobbercalm 10@10.
MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE MENSWEAR
NAME: Johannes Luttrén aka @sennah0j
LOCATION: Ljungby, Sweden
1. So Why Instagram?
Always been late on the ball on these social media stuff (guess I’m one of the few who never owned a Facebook account). But IG seems to fit me great, always liked pictures more than words.
2. Why Denim, Boots, Workwear, Ruggedness?
Been a huge fan of denim since I was a little kid. Love the fact that a pair of jeans goes great anytime. You can’t go wrong with denim! Boots came in quite late in my life (always worn sneakers before) but now, can’t go a day without my boots.
3. What are your thoughts on the rise in popularity of “Instafashion” and the community it is creating?
I think it’s great!! The fact that you can get a more genuine and real picture of how people actually dress in real is awesome. Maybe more when you live in a small and some times not so fashionable 😅 town like me. And maybe I’ve been an inspiration to some guys? If so, that’s awesome!!
4. Top 3 brands to shop and why?
Second, definitely Red Wing. Think they speak for themselves…
Third, Vans. Not only the sneakers, I think their clothes is also really nice.
5. Where’s your favourite place to shop these brands?
Since I live in a small town with almost no good stores I shop most of my clothes online.
6. When did you decide to voice and share your love for your clobber on social media?
About 7 months ago I became a full time dad/stay home dad or whatever you like to call it. Suddenly I have all the time in the world to use my clothes. As a carpenter in Sweden you can’t wear whatever the clothes you want when your at work, I don’t know safety and stuff😕…
At the same time I started to look at some IG accounts where people posted pictures of their outfits, and thought to myself maybe I can do that. Tried to post some photos, and now 7 months later here we are. Very glad I did cause it’s given me so much in return.
7. What’s the secret behind your great images; Who takes them? When are they taken? How do you capture the magic your followers enjoy so much?
I take most of my pictures myself, using my iPhone. Don’t know nothing about photos so I guess I’m just lucky 😁. Also, my lovely wife helps me sometimes.
8. What feeds do you like to follow and check in on? Who should we check out?
I like feeds that seem real. When there’s a genuine person behind the account. And when the person has put some thought and care in to their pictures and outfits.
9. What tips would you give new starters on Instagram to help them get there feed off the ground and successful?
Well, since I still consider myself a new starter on IG I don’t know if I’m the right person to hand out advice. But I’ll try anyway…
Try to post pictures when you’re comfortable in what you wear. Don’t just post a picture because you should. Do it when it feels right. Use hashtags. And try to connect with people, comment on pictures and chat with them. Just try to let people know you like what they’re posting.
10. And Lucky Last, You’re going to be stranded on a desert island and you can take 1 outfit (4 items) Only with you.
What would they be? And Why?
If I’m the only one on the Island I guess I wouldn’t wear much clothes. Cuz let’s face it, birthday suit is still the best, right?!
- But I guess I would bring a new pair of Lee 101 Riders, (best fit ever if you ask me).
- A random pocket tee.
- Definitely my 8113 Red Wing Boots, they would stay on when the rest goes 😉 (don’t like sand in my shoes).
- And my old Lee Storm Rider Jacket for those cold nights.
Tip-top stuff Johannes! You’re the second full time Dad we have had on here in the past few weeks and as a Father of 3 myself I completely understand just how hard yet rewarding that job is. It makes me smile to think that our children one day could be part of some virtual fly on the wall version of the 10@10 speaking about how their Dads badass style influenced the way they think about fashion 😀 Thanks for your time brother and of course I’m sure we will speak soon!
Now folks, next Monday is much like this evening in that we are staying very European as Monday’s brand slot sits with Netherlands based @benzakdenimdevelopers. Quickly rising in popularity BDD is a company with a strong passion and obsessive focus towards denim details!
The Benzak blog goes live on Monday at 10pm GMT and I’m also hoping by then it will be time to share some news about the website “fresh bits” we have coming up…
Have a cracking weekend folks and stay close, below is a few things listed FYI…
