Hello people.

It’s Thursday, football's not comin' home for another 4 years BUT we gave it a good go and everyone at clobber-calm HQ is immensely proud of our lads and what they've achieved in Russia!

Tonight's man '...Behind The Menswear', @pierre_yves_france, still has a keen interest in Sunday's game as his native France attempt to re-create their '98 success. Pierre also has a keen interest in everything denim, rugged & Red Wings too...there's something for everybody.

So sit back, relax, crack open a beer and enjoy the thoughts of Pierre (on clobber not footy) as @pierre_yves_france answers the @clobbercalm 10@10.

1. So Why Instagram?

First a curiosity! A friend of mine told me I could find some other guys sharing the same passion for Red Wing shoes. I’m not the kind of man who shows privacy on Instagram but this social network is a very cool tool to meet folks and purchase new treasures. Don’t forget I’m a collector!

2. Why Denim, Boots, Workwear, Ruggedness?

Let’s say it’s a way of life, some people like watches, some people like stamps, some people like candy crush , I’m just a true collector of Red Wing boots and other vintage items! If I can ride my vintage motorcycles wearing those stuff, I’m the happiest man!

3. What are your thoughts on the rise in popularity of “Instafashion” and the community it is creating?

Well, till it doesn’t become an addiction, I think it’s interesting. It’s a new vision of communication. Personally, I do not follow fashion or trends. I have my own style, some folks wear stuff I really like and share pictures on Instagram. Even if I’m a lone wolf sometimes, that’s true that I also became a member of this huge community and met people who became really good friends on this social network. As a wolf, when my phone is off, I go back to my forest..!

4. Top 3 brands to shop and why?

Red Wing, Levi’s Vintage Clothing, vintage Schott leather jackets, Tonton et Fils.

5. Where’s your favorite place to shop these brands?

I used to go to the Marais (Paris), there are few shops I like to visit, but one of my favorite is Royal cheese / Paris. I use the internet a lot to buy vintage denim or leather jackets.

6. When did you decide to voice and share your love for your threads on social media?

I guess it’s early 2016.

7. What’s the secret behind your great images; Who takes them? When are they taken? How do you capture the magic your followers enjoy so much?

Is there a secret? I’m not so sure! I do my own picture mostly with my phone. Anytime! I’m more attracted by materials. I’d like people to feel the leather with me, or to touch it! I like wood and waxed cotton, I like leather and Red Wing boots, I like caps and knives. This is what I like to show first! At least, I’m trying to keep the same style. I’d like followers to see the product as I do! I like to create an atmosphere! So, no secret, just a green eye on great products!

8. What feeds do you like to follow and check in on? Who should we check out?

I like all Red Wing feeds, espacially the US local store feeds. I like vintage collectors feeds and photographers feeds too.

@redwingheritage - @royalcheeseparis - @laurentnivalle - @tontonetfils - @redwingshoesgreeley

9. What tips would you give new starters on Instagram to help them get their feed off the ground, and successful?

Don’t look for success! Be yourself, say a real story, show good stuff! Forget about your pizza and hamburgers, don’t ask people to follow you. Be creative!

10. And Lucky Last, You’re going to be stranded on a desert island and you can take 1 outfit (4 items) Only and 1 x drink with you. What would they be? Who made them? And Why?

Definitely a 1944 Levi’s Vintage (don’t ask why, that’s the one, just in love with it’s vintage style!), a white tee-shirt, a knife (@couteauxbasque, this is a must have, what man would be without a knife?!) and of course my 10877 Red Wing Moctoe (Rough and tough, strong, stylish...you never know, I could meet a mermaid!) and of course a Corona beer...I could meet an other mermaid!!! And if I can cheat a little, I definitely would take a DEUS trucker cap...I love their caps!

Nice one Pierre! We'll allow you to cheat taking a cap as we don't want you getting sunburnt for those mermaids 😉 Thanks for taking the time my friend, it's a great write-up and you rock those Red Wings hard man. Even so, that Red Wing featured Pierre recently on their feed HERE.

If anybody reading fancies taking a shot at the 10@10 then just fire me over an email at callum@clobbercalm.com. AND that's me out, take it easy guys and have a great weekend ✌️
