@ZAC_RUIN ANSWERS THE 10@10

Hello people.

Tonights 'Men Behind The Menswear' we had the pleasure of meeting at the CCSC Rally Social last month. He is hell of a fucking cool guy who builds and rides choppers, has a huge love for bulldogs, works with some great brands and all that in his free time, when he's not deposing of bombs for the British Army...

... You see why we wanted to find out more. So here is Zac @zac_ruin answering the @clobbercalm 10@10.

MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE MENSWEAR

NAME: Zac Herdman AKA @zac_ruin
AGE: 25
LOCATION: Midlands, UK
OCCUPATION: British Army

1. So Why Instagram?

I guess I preferred the fact that it was all about pictures and not just Facebook status' about people moaning haha

2. Why Denim, Boots, Workwear, Ruggedness?

I've always been interested in buying high quality clothing rather than high quantities of clothing , I think not only is it better made and fitter but also it lasts a hell of a lot longer! Which with riding bikes and working on them a lot helps, as you go through clothes like no tomorrow be it oil stains, rips or just falling apart! With the high quality and rugged workwear brands they all seem to get better with wear!

3. What are your thoughts on the rise in popularity of “Instafashion” and the community it is creating?

I guess it's a good thing, I mean we all use instagram to show the world snippets of our life! There's a lot of controversy about it but I guess without it we wouldn't all be where we are.

4. Top 3 brands to shop and why?

Hmm I wouldn't say I have a top 3 as I like many different brands but a few favourite are definitely indigofera from Sweden, I have lots of their clothing and it's all great !

Eat dust are a pair of great guys and make some great pieces also! For footwear I would have said redwing but after my engineer boots almost fell apart from over use and cheap sole materials I sent them to Felix Jouanneau and he resolved them entirely using the best materials and now they are great! The next boots I get will definitely be a pair of his.

5. Where’s your favorite place to shop these brands?

I use the internet if I'm honest , I don't have the time to go shopping around shops and shops stocking these clothing brands are usually few and far between and sometimes the staff especially in the London shops are stuck too far up their own backsides it puts you off spending money.

6. When did you decide to voice and share your love for your threads on social media?

When companies started wanting to work with me for pictures and posts it came natural to share it on my page!

7. What’s the secret behind your great images; Who takes them? When are they taken? How do you capture the magic your followers enjoy so much?

Sometimes I take them myself or Hannah will take them! Sometimes my friends Johnny and Dom both great photographers help me out too or big red Edwood when we're riding :) Taken whenever I get the time haha I'm not sure why followers love them but I try to keep them as real to me as possible.

8. What feeds do you like to follow and check in on? Who should we check out?

I support my friends and anyone that supports me & also chopper pages for inspiration and the denim workwear pages/ clothing brands. All the bulldog pages I follow, I love little chubby bulldog babes

9. What tips would you give new starters on Instagram to help them get their feed off the ground, and successful?

Try capturing the real you and not to fill your page with lots of junk! Also don't try too hard to fit in, we've all been there and it doesn't always work, be yourself and you'll fit in where you belong

10. And Lucky Last, You’re going to be stranded on a desert island and you can take 1 outfit (4 items) Only and 1 x drink with you. What would they be? Who made them? And Why?

I'm taking a bucket hat , a bum bag , 90's style black flame shirt and some short shorts cause screw it! No one else can see me I may aswell have fun.

One drink would be buckfast! Drink till you die and come back as a cute sloth or something

Love a good shot of honesty on the 10@10. Thanks Zac! Love the 90's ensemble, bit cooler then some of the boots, leather and selvage that some people can't live without on their 10@10 final answer.
